Tea has traveled across every continent through its history and many cultures now have their own ways of enjoying the unique, yet versatile beverage. Discovered 5,000 years ago by a Chinese herbalist Shen Nung, tea has grown to encompass the globe. After water, tea is the most popular drink in the world.
As tea has been increasingly coming under the medical and scientific spotlight, its health and benefits are becoming better understood. The most common types of tea are black, green, Oolong, white and Puerh. All those types come from the same tea plant family, Camellia Sinesis and their nutritional value is relatively similar. Tea has been shown to be a good source of manganese and potassium as well as a mental boost. It has also been shown that white, green and Oolong tea can help weight management, improve skin health and strengthen the immune system.
